    About filament dryers

Most filaments absorb moisture from the air. Wet filament pops and strings as it prints, and nylon, TPU and PETG are affected far more than PLA. A dryer bakes the water back out at a controlled temperature and many can feed the printer while they run.

The maximum temperature decides which materials a dryer can handle: around 50°C covers PLA and TPU, 65°C covers PETG, and nylon, ABS, ASA and PC want 70-80°C. Spool capacity matters if you print from several spools at once.

Prices are checked against our own price history, so a deal only counts when the price is genuinely lower than usual, not just lower than a list price.

    Common questions

What temperature should I dry filament at?

Roughly 45-50°C for PLA, 55°C for TPU, 65°C for PETG and 70-80°C for ABS, ASA, nylon and PC, usually for four to six hours. Always stay below the filament's glass transition temperature.

Do I need a filament dryer for PLA?

Not usually. PLA absorbs moisture slowly, so a sealed box with desiccant is enough for most people. A dryer earns its place with PETG, TPU, nylon and other hygroscopic materials.

    How SpoolDeal checks prices

The same rules on every page, so a deal badge means the same thing everywhere.

    1. Re-checked through the day

Every tracked listing on Amazon UK and Eryone UK is re-checked through the day, and the most-watched ones every two hours.

    2. Measured against our own history

A deal only counts when the price is below what that reel has actually sold for over the last 90 days, not a seller's “was” price.

    3. An email when it drops

Set a target price on any reel with a free account and we email you when it gets there.
