    How accessories are ranked

Each accessory is ranked by how far its price is below its usual price over the last 90 days, from our own checks, with no brand taking more than three of the top places.

Prices are checked against our own price history, so a deal only counts when the price is genuinely lower than usual, not just lower than a list price.

    Common questions

Which accessories are worth buying first?

A spare nozzle in your usual size and a scraper cost little and save a print. If you print PETG, TPU or nylon, a filament dryer is the upgrade that most improves print quality.

Do I need a filament dryer for PLA?

Not usually. PLA absorbs moisture slowly, so a sealed box with desiccant is enough for most people. A dryer earns its place with PETG, TPU, nylon and other hygroscopic materials.

Is a dry box the same as a filament dryer?

No. A dry box is sealed storage that keeps moisture out; a dryer heats the filament to remove moisture it has already absorbed. Some heated dry boxes do both.

Do I need a hardened nozzle?

Only for abrasive filaments: carbon fibre and glass fibre blends (PLA-CF, PETG-CF, PA-CF), glow-in-the-dark, metal-filled and some wood-filled filaments. For plain PLA, PETG, ABS and TPU a brass nozzle is fine.

    Textured or smooth PEI?

Textured PEI is the easy all-rounder and hides layer lines on the bottom. Smooth PEI gives a glossy underside but grips PETG so hard it can tear the sheet, so use a glue stick with PETG.

    How SpoolDeal checks prices

The same rules on every page, so a deal badge means the same thing everywhere.

    1. Re-checked through the day

Every tracked listing on Amazon UK and Eryone UK is re-checked through the day, and the most-watched ones every two hours.

    2. Measured against our own history

A deal only counts when the price is below what that reel has actually sold for over the last 90 days, not a seller's “was” price.

    3. An email when it drops

Set a target price on any reel with a free account and we email you when it gets there.

    Waiting for a better price?

Open any reel and set the price you want to pay. We check it through the day and email you when it gets there. Free, and you can switch it off any time.
