About hotends
The hotend melts the filament: heater block, heat break, thermistor and nozzle. Replacing a whole hotend is often quicker than chasing a clog or a failing thermistor, and a high-flow or hardened hotend opens up faster printing and abrasive filaments.
Hotends are specific to a printer or an extruder system, so check the listing names your printer.

When should I replace a hotend?
When clogs keep coming back after cleaning, the thermistor reads erratically, or you want higher flow or abrasive-resistant parts. For a worn nozzle alone, replace just the nozzle.
